This Privacy Policy describes how Rootsoft Studios ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application Basra (the "App") — a traditional Mediterranean card game with AI opponents and real-time online multiplayer. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App may store the following on your device to personalize gameplay. This data stays on your device unless noted otherwise:

• Display Name: An optional name you choose to show during gameplay. It can be anything you like. It is used for display only and is not stored permanently on our servers.
• Game Settings: Preferences such as audio, music, sound effects, card back styles, and game rules (for example winning score and Basra points)
• Language Preference: Your selected language (for example English or Arabic)
• Onboarding Status: Whether you have completed the initial setup
• Local Session Identifier (UUID): A randomly generated unique ID created on your device so the App can identify your client during online play. It is not tied to your real identity. If you uninstall the App (or clear app data), a new UUID is generated the next time you use the App.

1.2 Online Multiplayer (Session-Only)

When you join a real-time online match, we use session-based data so the match can run. We do not create user accounts and we do not keep permanent player profiles.

• Session UUID: Your randomly generated UUID is used for the duration of the online session (matchmaking, gameplay, and reconnect while the session is active).
• Display Name (temporary): Shown to your opponent during the match. It is not stored as a permanent account name.
• Match / session state: Temporary game state needed for server-authoritative play and reconnect support. This exists for the session and is not retained as a lasting user record after the session ends.

We do not store your email, phone number, or other contact information for multiplayer. There is nothing to “log in” with beyond the App itself.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

To improve the App's stability and performance, we automatically collect:

• Crash Reports and Error Logs: Technical information about app crashes, errors, and performance issues through Sentry (a third-party error tracking service)
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging purposes

1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do NOT collect:

• Email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses
• Accounts, passwords, or permanent user profiles
• Payment or financial information
• Location data
• Contact lists or address books
• Photos or media files
• Browsing history or search history

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Game Functionality: To save local preferences and run single-player / AI play on your device
• Online Multiplayer: To run real-time matches using a temporary UUID and display name for the session only
• App Improvement: To identify and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues
• Technical Support: To diagnose and resolve technical problems you may encounter

3. Data Storage

3.1 Local Storage

Game settings and preferences are stored locally on your device (SharedPreferences on Android, UserDefaults on iOS, or equivalent). Local preferences are not uploaded as a permanent user profile. Uninstalling the App or clearing app data removes this local data, including the local UUID. A new UUID is created on next use.

3.2 Online Session Data

Online multiplayer uses session-only data (UUID, temporary display name, and match state). We do not keep permanent accounts or permanently store player names or UUIDs as lasting user records. When the session ends, that session data is not retained as a user profile.

3.3 Error Reporting Data

Crash reports and error logs are sent to Sentry, a third-party error tracking service. This data includes:

• Error messages and stack traces
• Device information (model, OS version)
• App version and build number
• Timestamp of the error

This data is used solely for debugging and improving app stability. Sentry's privacy policy can be found at https://sentry.io/privacy/.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Sentry

We use Sentry (sentry.io) for error tracking and crash reporting. Sentry helps us identify and fix bugs in the App. Information sent to Sentry is limited to technical error data and does not include personal contact information. 5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information used for gameplay and error reporting. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because Basra does not require accounts or collect contact details, there is no email or phone number for a child to submit through the App. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us in another way, please contact us so we can address it.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your information:

• Access: You can view your local game settings and preferences within the App
• Modification: You can change settings and your display name at any time in the App
• Deletion: Uninstalling the App (or clearing app data) removes local data, including the UUID. A new UUID is used if you install or open the App again
• Online identity: Because there is no permanent account, ending the session and/or clearing or reinstalling the App means prior session identity is not kept as a lasting profile

8. Data Retention

Local game data is retained on your device until you uninstall the App or clear app data. Online multiplayer data is session-based and is not stored as a permanent user record. Error reports sent to Sentry are retained according to Sentry's data retention policies, typically for a limited period necessary for debugging.

9. International Data Transfers

Error reporting data may be transferred to and processed by Sentry, which operates servers in various countries. Online session traffic may be processed on servers needed to run matches. By using the App, you consent to these transfers as needed to provide the service.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
